Underground Swing Arm
This type of operator is used on many of the most upscale gates. The operator is all but invisible, located below grade, leaving the beauty of the gate unencumbered by arms and boxes. The typical installation is a bi-parting gate (2 piece). The DC motor run operators are not strong enough to operate one piece gates over 10’ in length, although there are hydraulic units available that are up to the task. This is not usually an issue because they are used almost exclusively on bi-parting gates.
All of the underground operators use a separate control box which can control 2 operators. Many times when the installation uses column, the control box is flush mounted. To make the installation simpler and increase durability we have custom skeletons available that are embedded in the footing and column that hold the operator, control unit, gate hinges, and lighting.
