HID EntryProx Stand-Alone Proximity Card Reader / Keypad
HID’s EntryProx stand-alone reader truly stands alone in what it delivers. Compatible with all HID proximity cards and keytags, EntryProx provides single-door proximity access control and is ideal for unique applications. The reader, designed to be weather and vandal-resistant, can be mounted indoors or outdoors up to 10 feet away from the control unit using the detachable antenna module. The versatile, attractive unit is easily modified to become an on-line reader by switching to Wiegand output mode, allowing it to connect to any OEM controller and provide card and PIN output.
The ADA-compliant 12-position keypad features large white-on-black numbers, enabling PIN entry or programming, with optional audio feedback and a raised dot on the 5 key. For extra security, EntryProx’s keypad incorporates the “invalid PIN” lockout feature, preventing unauthorized trial-and-error PIN code entry.
The reader also features faster programming, enabling end-users to batch load up to 2,000 HID cards or keytags, in any format up to 37 bits, by entering a single keypad command sequence. A Block Delete feature allows for efficient badge administration by deleting a sequential range of cards/keytags from the EntryProx by user location.
Additionally, the Data Transfer Device (DTD) handled accessory increases reporting flexibility by enabling users to download transactions and card databases by communicating with the EntryProx utilizing an infrared interface.
Customers can select the HID EntryProx Reader with confidence because HID offers a lifetime product warranty and global technical support.
NOTE: Proximity Cards and Keytags included in kits will be programmed with HID's 37-Bit Wiegand format. HID tracks the issuance of this format and does not duplicate numbers. Numbers will be issued in random order.

Card Readers
Card readers are available in short range (2"-6") or long range (up to 10'). The longer range models use similar technology to that found in a toll booth "Fast Track" transponders. All access cards have a unique access code. If the reading system has that card enrolled, it will grant access privileges.
Stand alone card readers have a built in memory of the cards and are controlled from the reader itself. Most of these types of readers have a keypad located outside or inside the cabinet to enter or delete cards. In general they do not record or track card usage.
Slave card readers are attached to larger systems such as telephone entry systems or door controllers. This type of system frequently connects to a computer where the card usage is tracked. In these systems the telephone entry, door controller, or the computer keeps the data base where users are added or deleted and what access privileges individual cards have.
