AAS AdvantageDKS II Keypad Controller
Each AdvantageDKS II master station allows the user to randomly generate up to 1000, five digit codes and automatically enter them into memory. These codes can then be printed out using an RS-232 serial port printer, #21-047. The controller will also report time, date, code number entered, gate activated and valid / invalid code with the option of having the invalid codes printed in red using the #21-047 printer.
The AdvantageDKS II master controllers are available in two configurations: post mount or desk cabinet. Post mount masters (also available with intercom capability) are housed in heavy metal, powder coated enclosures with stainless steel faceplates and metal keypads. The desk cabinet (interior use only) is enclosed in a black metal housing.
In addition, the post mount master station can act as an additional keypad, yet still have two “slave” keypads wired to it, creating the ability to have three access keypads. (note: there are only two relays, even when there are three “active” keypads)

Wired Keypads
wired keypads are the most common type. Most of them can open a gate momentarily or hold it open. They range in code capacity from 3 codes to thousands. Almost all of them have an illuminated face for operating in darkness. The higher end ones have two independent sets of contacts to control 2 gates or doors. The commercial grade units are made with Stainless steel fronts and heavy gauge steel powder coated cases.
Solar Keypads
Solar ready keypads are also an available option. These units draw very little power and generally have an LED to light the front panel.
Wireless Keypads
Wireless keypads are a limited alternative. These units work on a 9 volt battery, and cannot do a hold gate open function. The inexpensive units have only one access code. They have a light on the face that is not normally on, and activates after one of the keys is pressed. These units should always be mounted on non metal surfaces. Metal drastically reduces the operating range to render the unit virtually non-operational. The Linear AKR-1 keypad is an exception to this rule because it has a top mounted antenna. An inexpensive wireless keypad is useful as an adjunct to a wired keypad placed inside the gate.
